How to get CS:GO Skins
CS GO Skins or weapon finishes are the textures applied to the CS GO guns. They don’t affect gameplay, they only change the look of the weapons.
The price range goes from 0.03$ to 2000$ depending on the rarity of the gun. The most rare ones are worth more and the most common can be worth only a few cents. They can be regular or StatTrak.
This last one adds a led counter to the gun skin to keep track of the amount of kills you’ve done with that weapon.
Skins first appeared in 2009 on “Team Fortress 2” as Hats and others miscellaneous wearables. This brought a new addiction to the game and economy where game items could be seen as real money.
Valve realized this was bringing a lot of revenue so in August 2013 they brought this concept to CS GO.
What’s the big deal about CS GO skins?
Almost every CS GO player loves CS GO skins either for its looks or its value. It brought a new look to the game and more personality into each each player.
It can be exciting the challenge of trying to grow your inventory from a few cents to hundreds of dollars. And most important of all they can be turned into real money if you want to cash out some of your inventory or decide to stop playing CS in the future.
How can I get CS GO skins?
- Playing CS GO
When you play on on official or community servers you will get random drops. You can only get 2 CS GO skins and 2 cases per week.
This cap resets every Thursday. You will only get regular ones because it’s not possible to get StatTrak skins from drops.
This drops are usually low tier and it’s value it’s usually around 0,03$ – 0,05$. You can get skins with more value but the chance to happen it’s quite low.
- Trading CS GO Skins
You can trade your skins with other players with steam built-in trading platform. Just be careful when trading someone you don’t know.
Check the prices of the items and make sure it’s a fair trade.
Also avoid trading for money, steam wallet, or other form of trading unless you know what you are doing. A lot of people are scammed every minute because they weren’t careful enough. If you are novice to trading just trade skin for skin and you will be fine.
- Steam Community Market
The Steam Market allows you to sell or buy CS GO skins with money on your Steam Wallet. It’s always safe and it’s easy to use.
You can also buy keys to open weapon cases on CS GO. You can also save some money and get a new game on steam.
- External Markets
You can also get cheap CSGO skins from other markets where you can pay with PayPal, Skrill, BitCoins and others methods of payment.
Be careful if you decide to use external markets. You should ask someone about it or use google to find out if the site you want to use is legit and safe to use.
- Weapon Case Opening
So you got some cases from drops and you wanna try your luck. To open these cases you need to buy a key on the game itself or on Steam Market.
The price of the key varies in-game and on market. Its value ranges from 2.15$ to 2.75$ depending on various factors. The most common motive for price changes is when Steam starts game sales, like summer and xmas sales.
But before buying the key check on game and on market which one is the cheapest purchase. I personally don’t advice to open cases because you will most likely get cheap weapons and in general the method won’t give you profit but if you like to gamble and have some spare bucks give it a go and see how it goes.
This is of course the most used and exciting way of win skins. There are a lot of websites that allow you to bet on CS GO pro matches to pick the winner or even risk your skins on jackpots against other users.
It’s exciting and fun but if you can’t afford to lose your CS GO skins always play it safe and don’t bet all your inventory or you will probably end up with no skins soon.
