NEW CSGO OPERATION RELEASE DATE?

At the time of writing, Valve did not release any information regarding the next operation release date. Usually, the new operation is released alongside a brand-new case. Revolution Case is the last one we got, and it was released to the general public in February 2023.

Since we have been without a new case for a while now, this could mean that the next one is being prepared alongside a new operation.

New skins and important game changes are common when operations are announced. For instance, the last operation, Operation Riptide brought in a short competitive game option that is likely to stay for good.

OPERATION RIPTIDE(SEPTEMBER 2021) – LAST CSGO OPERATION

Once CS:GO operation is released, players can expect a lot of changes to take place. This was the case with Operation Riptide. New game modes were announced for both competitive matches and deathmatch.

Moreover, we have also seen quality-of-life changes that include droppable grenades and the ability to choose your rewards as you progress through the game.

New maps, weapon skins, and weapon damage were also addressed. M4A1-S is doing more damage to the body while Desert Eagle does less. Dual Berretas are cheaper now. Also, Valve decided to block the famous mid peek in Dust 2.

HISTORY OF COUNTER-STRIKE GLOBAL OFFENSIVE OPERATIONS

Did you know that the longest wait time between operations was 29 months? Operation Hydra was released in May of 2017. After the operation was finished, Valve made players wait until November 2019 when Operation Shattered Web showed up.

In 2023, Valve is edging closer to breaking the record as the community is eagerly anticipating the release of a new operation for nearly 25 months. While we are waiting for a new CS:GO operation, here is a full list of previous operations:

  • Operation Payback – April 25, 2013
  • Operation Bravo – September 19, 2013
  • Operation Phoenix – February 20, 2014
  • Operation Breakout – July 1, 2014
  • Operation Vanguard – November 11, 2014
  • Operation Bloodhound – May 26, 2015
  • Operation Wildfire – February 17, 2016

  • Operation Shattered Web – November 18, 2019
  • Operation Broken Fang – December 3rd, 2020
  • Operation Riptide – September 21, 2021

As you can see from the list, CS:GO operation regularly takes place once a year. Even though we can’t determine an exact operation release date, we can only hope that the new operation is just around the corner.

WHY IS SO MUCH HYPE INVOLVED IN CSGO OPERATIONS?

In the past few years, CS:GO operations introduced a lot of new things. Community created maps, new weapon skins, improved matchmaking, and various other changes.

Every player out there is craving for new content to be added to the game, especially once you see how many updates other games like Valorant and Apex Legends are getting.

Speaking from experience, it is fun to do co-op missions with your friends. The best part about it is that you are getting rewarded for it. YouTuber Fano put in place an excellent video showcasing the most expensive operation drops.

IS NEW OPERATION COMING WITH COUNTER-STRIKE 2?

Data miners and CS:GO operations are a perfect duo. Players are scraping game files in order to find hints regarding content that is going to be added to this competitive shooter.

Even though Valve did not make an official statement regarding the release of a new operation, miners made a lot of interesting discoveries. 3 new weapon collections: Counter-Strike, Pop Comic, and Myth & Monsters will be added to the game. Pins and cosmetic items titled “Pets” can also be found in Valve files.

All of this information is pointing towards one thing. It is likely that Riptide was the final CS:GO operation. There is a high chance that the next operation release will take place once Counter-Strike 2 goes live.
